Terms of Use – Layaway, Warranty & Disclaimer

Terms of Use

We understand that choosing jewellery is a special decision, and we are pleased to offer flexible layaway options.

Deposit: A 20% upfront, non-refundable deposit is required to hold the item. This will be applied toward the total purchase price.
Payment schedule: Payments are usually arranged over 3 months via PayPal invoice, but we can extend up to 6 months on request.
Flexibility: PayPal invoices allow you to make partial payments whenever convenient. We also accept bank transfer or Wise in local currencies.
Completion: Items will be shipped once the balance has been paid in full.
Returns: Layaway items are returnable within 30 days of receipt; however, the initial 20% deposit remains non-refundable.
Failure to complete payments: If payments are not made within the agreed timeframe, we will attempt to work with you to find a solution. If none can be agreed, we reserve the right to refund payments made (excluding the deposit) and re-list the item.

Parkin & Gerrish offers a six-month warranty on all jewellery against manufacturing defects.

If a problem is deemed to be a manufacturing fault, we will repair the item at no cost.
The warranty does not cover wear and tear, negligence, or damage caused by misuse.
Within six months, we will replace missing side or accent stones if this results from a manufacturing defect. After six months, missing stones are considered wear and tear and will be the customer’s responsibility.
Any repairs or alterations not carried out by Parkin & Gerrish will void the warranty.
Shipping costs for repairs under warranty remain the customer’s responsibility.

We encourage clients to select jewellery appropriate to their lifestyle, as some materials, stones, and settings are more delicate than others.

Photography & descriptions: We make every effort to provide accurate photographs and descriptions. Images are taken under controlled lighting and are not enhanced. Please note, sizing and colours may vary slightly depending on monitor settings and close-up photography. Always check the listed measurements for scale.
Dating & authenticity: Antique and vintage pieces are dated based on hallmarks, materials, craftsmanship, and style. This is not an exact science; all attributions are made in good faith using our expertise. Dates may be marked as “circa.”
Gemstones: Carat weights and gradings are approximate and often assessed in their settings to avoid damage. Unless independently certified, assessments are carried out in-house. Most coloured gemstones (rubies, sapphires, emeralds, etc.) may have treatments to enhance their appearance, which sometimes require special care. All diamonds are natural and untreated unless otherwise stated.
Availability & pricing: Pieces may sell before they are removed from the website. If this occurs, we will notify you immediately. From time to time, errors in pricing or description may occur due to system or human error. We reserve the right to correct these errors and to decline any sale placed at an incorrect price.
