About Parkin & Gerrish FAQs
Who is behind Parkin & Gerrish?
Parkin & Gerrish was founded in 2021 by husband and wife duo, Zuleika and Oliver Gerrish. Zuleika is at the helm as a trained gemologist and antique jewellery historian. Oliver has a trained eye for fine jewellery, and has been working in the industry for over ten years. You can read about Zuleika and the story behind Parkin & Gerrish here.
Where are you based and do you have a shop I can visit?
We are based in London, but we are predominately online, however, we are happy to discuss meeting up in Central London (Notting Hill or Mayfair). Get in touch with us to organise an appointment. Our returns policy means you can be secure in the knowledge that, if you are not completely happy with your purchase, you can return it with no quibble within thirty days.
Can I try on before I buy? I need help deciding.
As we are online-only, we offer virtual appointments with Zoom, WhatsApp & Signal video. We are more than happy to provide any additional photos, videos or details about the item/s via email and WhatsApp/Signal. Zuleika will be delighted to be your very own personal virtual shopping assistant. We are happy to discuss meeting up in Central London (Notting Hill or Mayfair). Either way please do get in touch with us.
If you order jewellery from us and it doesn’t satisfy you in any way, we offer a full refund policy - please read for further details.
What do I do if I don't like it / change my mind?
It's no problem at all - just send an email to zuleika@parkinandgerrish.com and return the item to us for a full refund. We only want you to be happy. We offer 30 days for a free UK return, two months for exchange and a year after purchase for your first free resize (I hope this helps those who do not know their partner’s ring size). Please note, any bespoke pieces made by Parkin and Gerrish or any alteration are non-refundable. See our full return policy here.
I saw an item I loved but now it's sold out - can I get another one?
Unfortunately with antique and vintage jewellery, once it is gone, it is gone! Occasionally the item will be returned. Our jewellery collection is full of one-off pieces (the fact it is all unique is one of the many reasons we love antique and vintage jewellery!) - therefore it is unlikely we can find the same thing again, but if you let us know we can look out for something similar. We are always sourcing new treasures.
I am still not sure what to give. Do you provide gift cards?
Yes, we sell digital gift cards. They are a brilliant present idea. A digital gift card can be applied to any purchase. If you are purchasing an e-gift card for someone else, you will need to either enter their email address at checkout or forward the e-gift card you purchase to their email address.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
All our jewellery is beautifully gift wrapped by Zuleika in our bespoke range of materials and boxes. We care about the finishing touches. Read more about our packaging here.
Order FAQs
Do you offer layaway? Can I pay in instalments?
Yes! We have different ways of doing layaways. Paypal is most popular or via bank transfer. We try to be as flexible as possible, so if you tell us what you need, we will agree the layaway terms on a case by case basis with you. We usually offer a paypal invoice over the period of 3 months, but can happily extend to 6 months if needed. We do not charge interest for instalment payments. Paypal invoice allows you to pay a partial payment whenever is convenient for you.
A 20% up front, non refundable, deposit is required to hold the item, and this counts towards the item total. Payment is then made over the following weeks and the final payment must be made by the agreed end date.
Please note, items bought on layaway are returnable, but the deposit is non refundable. Items are shipped once payment is completed. If payment is not made within the agreed time frame, we will try to work with you to agree a solution, but reserve the right to refund your money (bar the deposit) and re-list the item.
Please contact us directly to discuss further.
Does it come with a certificate?
Yes, we provide a Parkin & Gerrish certificate with your purchase. All of our jewellery is checked and examined in house by Zuleika who is a professional gemologist and a FGA (Fellow of the Gemmology Association) and DGA (Diamond Member of the Gemmological Association).
The Parkin & Gerrish certificate is perfect to give to your insurance company along with a copy of the invoice. Please note, the certificate we provide is not a gemological certificate from a lab.
Some of our higher end jewellery will come with accredited gemological/diamond certification from a lab. If it does, it will be mentioned in the description. If it has not been lab certified, it is possible to provide such a certificate from a reputable London gemological lab. There is an additional non refundable charge for this, approximately £80 -120 plus VAT. Please get in touch with us to find out more.
Can I place an order over the phone?
No, we are currently unable to process orders and payments on the phone.
Do you offer alternative payment providers?
We accept all major credit cards, bank transfers, Klarna and PayPal. Please contact us directly for bank transfer instructions or if you interested in paying in instalments. All payments will have to clear before the item is sent out.

Products and services FAQs
Is the product imagery online accurate?
We do our utmost best to ensure our images are as clear and accurate as possible. All photographs are taken under controlled lighting conditions in order to optimise product detail. None of the photographs are enhanced. However, the display of product colours depends significantly on the user’s computer monitor and we cannot guarantee the level of accuracy achieved on every individual user’s monitor. Please take note of the measurements of a piece of jewellery. Items can sometimes look larger in close up photography, or look a different size on different people.
Is the product description online accurate?
Parkin & Gerrish will date each antique piece based on materials, construction techniques, hallmarks/signatures, overall style and cultural context. While dating and authenticity are not a formal science, we determine them to the best of our ability based on our knowledge, experience and resources. This is why some of our dates are 'circa'. Any mistakes or omissions are purely accidental.
Please note, with antique and vintage jewellery, it can be difficult to exactly measure stones without taking them out of their mounts. Diamonds and coloured gemstones that cannot be removed from their settings without harm to the piece are evaluated in their settings. Unless certified by an independent lab, stone gradings are done by Zuleika in-house. Jewellery descriptions and all carat weights stated are approxiamtes. Most coloured gemstones (i.e. rubies, sapphires and emeralds) are often treated to enhance their beauty; some treatments may not be permanent and/or may require special care. Please email us for further details. All diamonds shown on our website are natural, untreated diamonds. We cannot guarantee that the colour you see matches the item colour, as the display of colour depends, in part, upon the type of computer monitor used to observe the image.
Pieces may go out of stock before we’re able to remove them from the site. Should this occur, we will notify you. We make every attempt to only show our users correct information. From time to time inaccurate data may be displayed due to system error. We reserve the right to correct any incorrect pricing as a result of the above, and will not honour any incorrect prices. We also reserve the right to refuse a sale.
How are gemstones tested?
We have every product professionally examined and tested in house by Zuleika, who is a trained gemmologist. We can provide gemmological lab certificates, or can be arranged at an additional cost.
Are your diamonds colour and clarity graded?
Though we aim to provide accurate colour/clarity grades and carat weights for our diamond jewellery, this is not always possible. In order to be accurately assessed, diamonds have to be physically removed from their settings which risks causing damage to the item. For this reason, we tend to give approximate colour/clarity grades and carat weight estimates.
OUR PACKAGING
Is your packaging sustainable?
Yes! Zuleika felt it was very important to have packaging that is not only made in the UK but also fully recyclable! It has been quite a journey to making our packaging, as it turns out that many companies do not actually make their boxes in the UK. So, to find a company that is recyclable AND made in the UK has been quite a challenge. We struck luck after months of asking around and we finally found a brilliant company that makes their boxes in sunny Surrey.

Parkin and Gerrish offers a six month warranty on all of our jewellery against any manufacturing defects. This means if you experience any problem with your purchase, please get in touch.
If we deem the problem a manufacturing issue, we will repair the item at no expense to the customer. Please note, the warranty excludes coverage due to wear and tear and/or negligence subsequent to purchase. Within the first six months of purchase we will replace side or accent diamonds/gemstones that go missing if we feel that it is a manufacturing defect. After six months of purchase all missing side or accent diamonds/gemstones will be considered wear and tear and will be at the expense of the customer. Any repairs or work not done by us will void our warranty. We stress the importance in choosing jewellery that is appropriate for your lifestyle. Some materials / stones / styles are not suitable for everyday wear. Get in touch if you are not sure. Please note that you will be responsible for any shipping costs related to the repair.

Yes we do! Do get in touch if you are looking to sell. We are always looking for beautiful antique and modern jewellery! We recommend you have a price in mind before.
